Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Teaser

ABC has signed Joss Whedon’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for full season this fall.  I don’t think there was really any doubt that it would happen, but now we’ve got confirmation and a teaser trailer for the upcoming show set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  The show follows the events of last years The Avengers and promises the return of Agent Phil Coulson.  There’s been a lot of hubbub about how he lived after he was supposedly killed in The Avengers, but that’s a mystery that will surely be solved this fall when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. comes to the small screen this fall on ABC.  Until then, just know that Coulson Lives.

Techland’s “Hellraid” has a teaser trailer

The upcoming first-person action game Hellraid from Dead Island developer Techland has a teaser trailer.  It kinda looks like the offspring of the aforementioned Dead Island and Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls games.  If they can iron out the bugs that plagued Dead Island, this might end up being a wonderfully addicting gaming experience.

Gears of War Film Actually Happening?

Crimson OmenIt’s been a long time since we’ve heard anything about the long-planned Gears of War movie.  First news of the film came back in 2007 when New Line Cinema gained the rights for the film, but it’s been trapped in development hell for several years after losing its director and $100 million budget.  However, the film now has a new producer:  Scott Stuber.  Stuber served as the producer on Seth McFarlane’s Ted as well as the blockbuster bomb Battleship (among others, but Battleship is a pretty stand-out disappointment).

It’s easy to be disappointed with a film adaptation of a videogame before its release given the less than stellar track record of past videogame movies, but it is promising to hear that the script for the film is being developed with Epic games, IP owner of the Gears of War franchise.  No one else has signed with the film at this time, but Epic’s involvement with the script and the film now having a producer shows some interest in getting the project off the ground.  Whether or not it actually makes it to cinemas (or is actually good) remains to be seen.

Quantic Dream’s “Beyond: Two Souls” Has New Trailer

After showcasing their upcoming adventure game Beyond: Two Souls at Tribeca Film Festival, Quantic Dream has prepared a new trailer for eager fans.  Beyond: Two Souls would probably be best described as an interactive movie, in line with Quantic Dream’s past games, and stars Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe.  It is set to be released this October.

As a fan of the studio’s past work (most notably Heavy Rain and Indigo Prophecy), I’m excited to get my hands on Beyond this fall.
