Remedy Entertainment posted the official box art for their upcoming Xbox One exclusive Quantum Break. The game will be an innovative new IP that blends gaming and television with the television show in the works supposedly being tailored to the way gamers play the game.

Sonic: Lost Worlds Trailer
Sonic: Lost Worlds is heading exclusively to Nintendo consoles later this year. It follows the announcement of an exclusive Sonic deal between Sega and Nintendo; Lost Worlds is first game in that partnership and it now has a trailer. Fans of Sonic games may see some Sonic Xtreme DNA in this upcoming title–Sonic Xtreme was the canceled 3D Sonic game for Sega’s short-lived Saturn.
Conker project lead working on WiiU game
Chirs Seavor is apparently working on a game for Nintendo’s WiiU. With all the buzz surrounding Microsoft and Sony’s next gen consoles circulating the web, it’s nice to see that Nintendo’s console hasn’t been forgotten. Seavor served as Rare’s project lead on Conker’s Bad Fur Day and has since gone on to start his own indie studio dubbed Gory Details. Seavor teased on his Twitter that Gory Details will be needing some WiiU dev kits and promised some gameplay footage in the coming weeks.

New Legacy of Kain?
Earlier this year, Square Enix registered the “warfornosgoth.com” domain which created some speculation if the publisher was planning on bringing back the Legacy of Kain franchise which is set in Nosgoth. Apparently this speculation has been gaining more steam as an entry titled Nosgoth has been found in the Steam database. Additionally, references to Nosgoth have been found in patch notes for an AMD driver update. With E3 right around the corner, it’s highly likely we’ll find out more about this rumor soon.
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon “sequel in mind.”
With sales of the downloadable title exceeding expectations by five times, it’s understandable that Ubisoft would consider making this one-off a franchise. Michael Biehn, the voice of Blood Dragon‘s protagonist, stated in an interview with Microsoft’s Major Nelson that Dean Evans, the creative director for the testosterone-filled retro throwback, has a sequel in mind for Blood Dragon. It’s likely, given the success of the downloadable game, that we will be seeing more of Rex Power Colt in the future. The beautiful, neon laser filled, post-apocalyptic future.

State of Decay Coming to XBLA this June
Upcoming open-world zombie survival game State of Decay has a new trailer and a June release date. The game is being developed by Undead Labs and published by Microsoft Studios. Synopsis and trailer below:
The end is here. Life as you knew it has gone to hell after the mother of all zombie outbreaks. Now you and the few scattered survivors must band together to survive and rebuild in a 3rd-person action game set in a dynamic open world. You choose where to make your stand, designing and fortifying your home base, performing daring raids for food and ammunition, and rescuing other playable survivors with unique talents. The open, sandbox world develops in real-time, shaped by your actions, dynamically generating content based on your choices and the ever-increasing zombie threat.

The Witcher 3 Announced for Next Gen Consoles and PC
CD Projekt RED has announced the third installment of its The Witcher franchise. The developer claims that the game will be the largest modern RPG and will be 30x larger than The Witcher 2. This next installment will use CD Projekt’s new engine REDengine 3 and will be the first game to utilize said engine. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be an open world game said to be 20% larger than the world in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim–the map will take over 30 minutes to cross on horseback!
Wild Hunt will be the final installment of the series developed by CD Projekt RED and will be released in 2014 for PC and “all high-end platforms available.”
In related Witcher news, the first two games are currently on sale on Steam for $5 and $10 and the second game has received a permanent price drop on Xbox 360 (officially down to $30).
PS4 to be Unveiled this Month–Xbox this Spring
We all have known this was coming for a while now–the current generation of consoles is over 7 years old (the Xbox 360 originally launched in November of 2005) and many believe a new console generation is long overdue. According to Polygon, the next PlayStation game console will be officially unveiled this month. Microsoft, however, plans to unveil their next console in the spring. Both platforms are expected to launch this holiday season.
A PlayStation meeting is scheduled for February 20 and will highlight the future of Sony’s PlayStation brand.

GTA V and Fuse Delayed
Rockstar’s highly anticipated fifth (numbered) installment in the Grand Theft Auto franchise has been delayed from its initial planned release of spring 2013 to September 17. The press release states, “The September release date moves the launch back from its original projected release window of spring 2013 in order to allow additional development time.”
Insomniac’s first multi-platform game Fuse has also been delayed to the second quarter of 2013.
Grasshopper Manufacture Acquired by GungHo Online Entertainment
Goichi Suda’s (Suda51) game development studio Grasshopper Manufacture has been acquired by Japanese game publisher GungHo Online Entertainment (GOE). Grasshopper Manufacture is known for the No More Heroes franchise, Killer 7, and Shadows of the Damned among others. Their most recent retail release was 2012’s Lollipop Chainsaw. Grasshopper is currently developing Killer is Dead for release in Japan this year with Xseed Games rumored to be localizing the game for American audiences. GOE’s acquisition of Grasshopper will not affect the development of titles currently being made by Grasshopper with the official press release stating: “Titles already in development at the studio before the acquisition will not be affected by the deal and will continue under their current publishing terms.”
